Tim Scheerhorn R. Body #223
Tim Scheerhorn R. Body #223
Made by famed resonator guitar builder Tim Scheerhorn in 1998, this “R Body”, Scheerhorn’s nod to the old Regal/Dobros from the 1930’s, is every bit as incredible as the reputation these instruments carry would suggest.
Getting his start building after playing vintage Dobros for years, Tim decided one day to build his ideal resonator guitar, and pretty much nailed it first try, with his iconic baffle design morphing over the years into the parabolic baffle used to better accentuate the sound of the instrument, as well as better contact between cone and body, making for a much more acoustic-forward experience.
This R, built with mahogany back and sides and a maple top, has a nice bright sound, with more of that vintage focus than the larger L body.
Fairly well used, with dings throughout and a fair amount of wear, but it’s playing great and sounding even better. Two repaired side cracks.
Comes with a hardshell case.
