Late 50's National/Valco Res-o-Tone

$1,000.00

This very-space age little resonator guitar is the increasingly desirable Res-o-tone, a fiberglass bodied, short scale, single cone resonator from the era where innovation in the guitar world was about to explode.

This particular example, probably from around the late 50’s, is in a color many people refer to as “mother of toilet seat”, a plastic-y white pearl finish that oozes 50’s and 60’s coolness. The short 22” (!!) scale makes for a sweet bluesy, bendy feel that’s definitely unique.

This guitar isn’t discernible as any of National’s brands, but most likely was made for the Valco name due to the lack of any branding.

Good condition, with some scrapes on the back of the neck and a slightly buzzy high E string.

With original case.
