With its more traditional leaning construction, the Traditional series, with their hide glue and through saddle construction, often give a rounder, warmer sound than their brand new guitars are known for having. This gorgeous D-2HT, with herringbone trim and a subtle sunburst, definitely fits that bill. This guitar has a great feeling “Traditional” neck carve, which is slightly more bulky and V shaped than the usual Collings neck, as well as a super thin laquer finish for more projection.
