1973 Gallagher G-70

$3,800.00

Built by the old man JW Gallagher himself, this 1973 Gallagher G-70 (Serial #539) is a great 1970’s dread with all the feel and tone you’d want out of a Gallagher, with the added bonus of its historical context as a guitar built in only the first couple years of the brand.

Gallagher, founded essentially in 1965, has made guitars for numerous famous country and bluegrass stars, most notably Doc Watson, after JW met the legendary flatpicker at a festival, introducing himself to both Doc and Merle.

The G-70 is their right-down-the-middle rosewood dreadnought, featuring, in this case, a Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides.

This old gal features a fairly slim C profile mahogany neck, topped with a 1 11/16 nut and 2 ¼ bridge spacing.

Excellent condition, super clean for 40 years old, and comes with a hard shell case.
