Made by our new friends at KLŌS, this all carbon fiber A style mandolin is perfect for the mandolin player on the go, or those who don’t want to bring their main mandolin from say, Denver to Winter Park and worry about temperature, humidity or altitude!

Fully crafted from Carbon Fiber, KLŌS mandolins are taking the bluegrass world by storm, and can specially be seen all around Colorado thanks to their resilience to our particularly… unique climate! From late night picks at Rockygrass to full on gigs at the Lodge at Winter Park, or New Terrain Brewing on a rainy night at Goldengrass, these mandolins don’t suffer from the same shrinkage issues as their spruce and maple brethren thanks to the surprisingly lightweight but ridiculously strong body. (Hey, if it’s good enough for F1 cars, it’s good enough for us mandolin pickers!)

With a composite ebony board, stainless steel frets (!) that have gotten the PLEK treatment from the factory, and an ebony bridge, there’s a surprising amount of familiarity of tone from the usual materials, aided by a very comfortable rounded V shaped neck, also constructed of carbon fiber, topped with a familiar 1 3/16th wide nut.
