Though the MF is technically Collings’ lowest level F-style mandolin, it is in no way an inferior instrument to the $10k plus offerings from the Austin based manufacturer, thanks to the thin finish, incredible woods, and ridiculously precise tolerances.

This example, in their upgraded option (with a gloss spruce top) and an amazing looking Honey Amber finish, is one of the better looking mandolins we’ve had in the store in years, with a ridiculously good looking flamed maple back, sides, and neck, as well as an overall sense of quality that few manufacturers can pull off.
