Tailwater TW-F5V (Varnish)
Tailwater TW-F5V (Varnish)
This newest offering from our friends at Tailwater, the F5V, is built with a hand-carved Red Spruce top and solid AAA flamed maple back, sides, and neck. Construction follows familiar modern F-style parameters, with a radiused ebony fingerboard and scooped extension, adjustable ebony bridge, solid cast tailpiece, and medium, modern fretwire.
This mandolin features a 1 1/8" bone nut, fully bound body, bound neck and headstock. This newer version uses a varnish gloss finish, offering a slightly softer feel than standard lacquer and a more vintage vibe.
Tailwater instruments are designed in Boulder, Colorado, with hardware selection guided from Tokyo, pickguards made in Texas, and the mandolins hand-built by a small shop luthier in Shandong, China. Final setup is completed in Colorado.
Includes a velvet-padded F-style carbon fiber hard case.
