The Northfield NFS, their lowest priced F style, represented, when it came out, a new paradigm for Chinese made quality mandolins for a reasonable budget. The lowest appointed F in their lineup, the NFS features subtle visual accents, including single ply binding only on the top, either tortoise or no fretboard binding, simpler headstock accents, and a semi-satin thin lacquer finish.

As always, the top is spruce, Red in this case, with figured maple back and sides, along with a maple neck topped with an ebony fretboard with a 1 1/8th nut and compound 5.5” -7.7” radius, with modern, larger frets.

This example is finished in their special Sheraton Brown, which is in quite good shape, only one or two nicks here and there.

Comes with the original “heirloom” hard case.
