Collings’ MT is their most affordable mandolin, but probably also their best value; it’s every bit the player that their high-end models are, just without the fancy trim that sends those into five-figure territory. The Gloss Top model takes things up a notch with a gloss lacquer top, adding a bit of flash compared to its usual satin-finished counterparts.

This used example from 2014, built with a nicely grained Sitka spruce top and a nicely selected flamed maple throughout the back, sides, and neck, is a great player that shows very little wear despite its 11 years.

The nut measures 1 ⅛", and the neck has a gentle V carve; comfortable, quick, and quintessentially modern feeling.

It’s got that warm, woody chop and the clear, bell-like treble Collings are famous for.

Great condition, just a normal amount of light pick scratching, etc.
