2009 Breedlove Oregon
2009 Breedlove Oregon
When Breedlove’s mandolins were first released in the 2000’s, luthier Kim Breedlove’s goal was to make something clearly “Breedlove” but to pay homage to tradition as well.
Breedlove mandolins, from a playing standpoint, are definitely modern, with radiused boards, wider string spacing, and a fairly slim neck profile, coupled with an archtop style floating fretboard extension instead of the usual Loar style block. They’re made in one of three distinct body shapes: O, K, and F, each available with either f-holes and tone-bar bracing or an oval-hole x-brace layout.
This 2009 Oregon model, named after their home state, is a classic A style with a Sitka top and nicely flamed maple back and sides. The Oregon model is fully bound, with a gloss finish, Monteleone-style tailpiece and Schaller tuners.
Specs include a 1 3/16″ bone nut, radiused ebony fingerboard with pearl dots, 13 15/16″ scale, carved spruce top and flamed maple back, and chrome-plated hardware throughout.
In essentially new condition.
Comes with the original hardshell case.
