1966 Rickenbacker 360 Fire GLo
1966 Rickenbacker 360 Fire GLo
The Rickenbacker 360 is one of the defining guitars of the 1960s, easily recognized for its space age looks and bright, chim-ey sound associated with some of the biggest bands of the day, the Beatles and Who to name a few. Introduced as part of the 300 series of thin hollow-bodies in the late 1950s, the rounded-edge version became a fixture through the mid-’60s and is forever tied to the music of that era.
This 1966 example has the deluxe appointments of the 360 model: carved maple body with checkerboard back binding, bound soundhole, maple/walnut neck, and lacquered padauk fingerboard with crushed pearl inlays, not to mention a very cool faded “Fire-Glo” finish. Hardware includes Kluson Deluxe tuners, the standard two-pickup, and five-knob control layout. The electronics are sent out exclusively through regular mono jack.
Condition wise, this instrumemt is somewhere between very good and excellent, minus some corrosion on the intonation adjustment screws.
Comes, amazingly, with the original case!
