1965 Gibson ES-330TDC
1965 Gibson ES-330TDC
The Gibson ES-330, the fully hollow, P90 loaded cousin of the popular ES-335, is one of those guitars that has to be played to be understood. With a livelier, rawer sound than its semi-hollow, humbucker loaded counterparts, the ES-330 is a blues-rock machine, and testaments to this pedigree include noted players like Gary Clark Jr, Grant Green, The Beatles (playing the Casino, Epiphone’s variant) and more.
This example, from 1965, features the more sought after features of the early 60’s, most noticeable being the 1 11/16ths nut, much more comfortable in most people’s hands than its later, skinner version.
The body, hollow, made of laminate maple, is coupled with a Honduran mahogany neck and Brazilian rosewood fretboard, a tried and true Gibson wood combo.
The pickups are original, as well as the wiring, though the tuners, nylon saddles, and adjustment thumbwheels have been swapped at some point in the distant past.
Great condition overall, with just some expected checking. Possibly has new frets.
Comes with a period hardshell case.
