c. 2005 Andersen Custom 16
Made by famed luthier Steve Andersen sometime in the mid 2000’s, this gorgeous Custom 16 is a stripped down, fast playing beauty that, though it’s lived a life, still is a precise jazz machine.
With a carved spruce top and maple back and sides (though they’re painted black), this guitar totally has a more modern tone than many 16” archtops, bright and alive, while still retaining a nice woody thunk that the design is known for. The body is bound in either a stained maple or a Koa, and looks quite elegant.
The neck, with its nearly 25.7” scale and 1 11/16ths nut, is quite slim, with a shallow D shape lending a very modern feel to this guitar.
In good condition, with some finish wear and blushing on the 1st position on the back of the neck.
Comes with a hard case.
