1998 Gibson Historic R8 (Aged By Thomas Core)
1998 Gibson Historic R8 (Aged By Thomas Core)
Aged by New York player Thomas Core, sometime in the early 2000’s, this great old Gibson Historic Reissue is as good as any Murphy we’ve ever seen.
Regardless of where it became “oldified”, this guitar started life as a Gibson Custom Historic 1958 reissue, with amazingly accurate color and a plain top, sporting a nice and thick 1998 style neck. The telltale ‘97 and ‘98 pickup gap is there, between the pickguard and the bridge pickup, due to Gibson slightly misplacing the bridge pickup before rectifying the problem in 1999.
This guitar plays great, with a remarkably accurate, slightly woodier sound than the average reissue.
Comes with a vintage pink lining Lifton les Paul case.
