1951 Epiphone Triumph Regent
1951 Epiphone Triumph Regent
Introduced only three years previously in 1949, the Triumph Regent (or “cutaway”) as they called it in in ‘49, was only manufactured in the New York for about three years, until the factory moved to its final location under the Epiphone banner, in Pennsylvania, where this guitar was manufactured.
The 17 3/8ths inch wide Triumph, their most popular professional-level model, went through some changes between its inception and the birth of this guitar, landing, at this point, on a carved solid spruce top, carved maple back, and laminate maple sides.
Production of these only lasted for a brief period, tapering off consistently until 1956, when the company was acquired by its main competitor, Gibson.
This particular example is in nice condition, with its original 1 11/16 nut very comfortable to play, and the added pickup and non-original pickguard make for a nicely versatile jazz box.
Original tuners, too!
Comes with a period hard shell case.
