2007 Vox AC15H1TVL 50th Anniversary
Made in 2007 to commemorate Vox Amplifier’s 50th anniversary, this glorious hardwired AC15, in a solid mahogany cabinet with finger-jointed corners, is maybe one of the best sounding combo amps we’ve had in a while.
This TV style amplifier features two channels, one with just a volume and “brilliance” knob (akin to a tone knob), and one bedecked with a three-channel EQ and a Top Cut circuit. Both channels feature a switchable “pentode or cathode” mode, changing the circuitry to switch up tone.
The mahogany cabinet is a little scuffed up, and seems to have taken a hit at one point that dislodged the joinery slightly, but is stable.
Sounds great, nice and rich, loaded with a Celestion Blue that, combined with the 15-watt hand wired circuitry, imbues this beauty with that chime-y bright Vox top end players have come to love.
