2018 Waterloo WL-14X "Scissortail"

$3,200.00

Made by Waterloo, Collings’ highly sought after and not often available vintage inspired brand that builds guitars that are tributes to the Gibson made Catalogue guitars of the 30’s and 40’s, this “Scissortail”, named after the Texas native species of oriole, is a tribute to the “Oriole” guitars made by Gibson between 1940 and 1942 with slightly more interesting specs than normal- tortoiseshell plastic binding, natural finishes and, most interestingly, maple back and sides.

This Waterloo, nearly a replica of those guitars, differs only in its X-braced construction, with a nice open, woody sound resulting from this design enhancement.

Coupled with a 1 ¾ nut width, 2 3/8ths bridge spacing, and a nice, chunky V profile mahogany neck, this beauty has finger pickin’ roots to spare.

It also features a nice little Scissortail inlay on the headstock, as well as picture of Bill Collings on the label.

In excellent condition, with just some swirl marks on the headstock.
