California based acoustic guitar manufacturer Larrivée, founded in 1967 by Jean Larrivée, is known for making extremely responsive, lightweight acoustic guitars that punch well above their price point.

This 00-40R, a rosewood 00, carries on the nearly 60 year legacy of this company quite nicely, with a huge responsive tone, much louder than its body size would suggest, thanks to a very nice Sitka spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck, and super thin hybrid poly finish, Larrivée’s own creation, which allows for more resonance overall.

With a 1 11/16ths nut, and a slim, rounded D profile neck with maple binding, this guitar plays much more ‘modernly’ than many 00’s. Great for fingerstyle blues or fingerpicking in general.
