2012 Gibson SJ-200 Custom

$4,500.00

The Gibson Jumbo, first designed in 1937 as the Super Jumbo, is a guitar long associated with country and rock history, thanks to its ostentatious design, huge, even keeled sound (thanks to its usually maple construction) and even bigger physical size. It’s stayed fairly steady in Gibson’s lineup ever since.

his guitar, the SJ-200 Custom, sits firmly in the upscale tier; rosewood back and sides like the earlier 30s examples, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, gold hardware paired with Grover Imperials. Like vintage Gibsons, the nut is 1 ¾, though it’s paired with a much more modern slim C profile on the three piece maple neck.

This model comes replete with L.R. Baggs electronics, Abalone inlays, an engraved pickguard (though this one has been replaced at some point, if not just re-glued) the older script-style Gibson logo, and a “four ribbon” bridge inlay, as opposed to the standard two.

Big, even sound, with a nice boomy low end. Plays very well thanks to a recent setup, and besides a little bit of residue around the pickguard from a re-glue, it’s in great shape, with just the usual expected finish swirling from polishing.

Comes with the original upgraded hard case.
