2007 Martin CSN Gerry Tolman Commemorative
2007 Martin CSN Gerry Tolman Commemorative
Made between 2007 and 2009 to commemorate the life of longtime CSN manager Gerry Tolman, and as a way to raise money for his kids after an unexpected passing, this gorgeous Martin combines some of the visual cues of other CSN signature guitars and blends them into a pre war style, nicely inlaid D-42 style guitar with a big sound and a story to boot.
With an Engelmann spruce top, usually reserved for mandolins by most builders, Indian rosewood back and sides, pre war style construction and a big, 30’s style V neck with 1 ¾ nut, this guitar has a much older sound and feel than it’s from, and feels killer in the hand, with a full, responsive sound and immediate touch responsiveness.
In great shape, with just one or two nicks, though there is some finish softening and marking around the rosette, presumably a reaction from the vinyl of a sound hole humidifier.
Comes with the original hard-shell case. Label signed by Crosby, Stills and Nash from the factory.
This is number #174 of possibly 200-250 or so.
