Collings Guitars, the Austin, Texas makers known for their extremely consistent and well put-together guitars, have for years been the go-to brand for professional guitarists of all genres, but in the last 20 years bluegrass specifically. This 2006 D1, the standard mahogany dread from Collings, is a great example of that.

Though it’s been played, it’s impeccably clean, with the sitka top only having one or two marks on it. The lovely tight grained mahogany back and sides are equally as clean, with just the usual polish cloth swirls and basically nothing else.

1 11/16 nut, with a v profile neck reminiscent of the 40’s, very playable.

Comes fitted with a Fishman Matrix-style pickup.

Comes with the original hard shell Collings case.
