2005 Martin D16RGT
2005 Martin D16RGT
Though in 2005, the Martin GT series was a slight “step down” from a standard series D-28, the D16 featured all solid woods, basically the same construction specs, and interestingly, scalloped bracing, something that tonally is actually a bit of an upgrade from the standard D-18 at the time.
This one is a particular nice example of the D-28’s slightly littler brother from the beginning of Martin’s re-rise to the center of the acoustic guitar world, having been overtaken by Japanese manufacturers like Takamine and Ibanez, and Canadian techy guitar wizards like Godin, with their then wildly popular Seagull guitars, something with the D-16 and its mahogany brother were designed to compete with.
With a 1 11/16 nut, comfortable slight V neck, and all solid spruce and Indian construction, this guitar is a great player and sounds just like you’d want a rosewood Martin to sound, nice and big with plenty of overtones.
In great shape with barely any expected play wear.
Comes with the original case.
