2002 Martin D-35
2002 Martin D-35
The longtime workhorse of Martin’s rosewood dreads, the D-35 is one of those guitars that nearly defines a generation: since their inception in the mid 60’s, musicians of all genres have flocked to these guitars as even keeled, if slightly boomier, strum machines that work for almost all styles of music.
This example, from 2002, is prime early 2000’s Martin, which is to say nearly identical to every Martin since the mid 1980’s
With the normal sitka spruce and Indian rosewood combo, this guitar’s got a great big dread sound, if a little brighter than normal which is definitely a good thing.
The nut, like all standards from this era, is 1 11/16, and the neck profile is a fairly small C, as Martin was going for more of a “universal playability” thing during this time period.
In good shape, though there are two dings on the neck from (presumably) a table edge, and a chemical burn on the headstock from an old vinyl backed headstock tuner.
Comes with a Martin hardshell case, presumably original.
