1980 Guild F512XL
1980 Guild F512XL
By 1980, Guild had garnered a massive following of devoted acoustic players, partially due to being a more cost effective (and frankly, better quality) alternative to Martin or Gibson, but also due to their own brilliant sound and robust construction. This 1980 F512XL, the fancier version of the widely popular 212, is a great example why.
With a lovely aged in spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck with bound ebony board (replete with lovely block inlays) and an overall sense of refinement, this guitar has a lot going for it both visually and sonically, with the Guild jumbo basically being the benchmark against which all 12 Strings are measured.
This one’s had a bit of a history, with a fairly complex neck break repair, and lots of great looking wear, but is in good playable shape overall with a big bright sound.
Comes with a hard shell case.
