1964 Martin D-21

$11,500.00

There’s clean, and then there’s this guitar. This is a 1961 Martin D-21, their short lived rosewood dread with all of the stylings of a D-18, made between 1955 and 1969, a relatively short term for Martin’s production.

With a sitka top and Brazilian rosewood back and sides, this guitar shares much of the same tonal characteristics of its 28 brethren, with perhaps a slightly more open sound than a D-28 of this era thanks to the slight bit less plastic on board.

This example, from 1964, relatively near the end of production, is one of the cleanest vintage guitars we’ve ever gotten in. With only a replacement set of tuners and a setup, as well as a probable previous neck set, this old gal is playing great and sounds just as good, with a nice bright 60’s Martin sound.

Comes with a Martin hard case and the original tuners in the case.
