1960 Martin 0-18T
1960 Martin 0-18T
In the early 1960’s, the folk boom was about to hit full stride, and though tenor guitars weren’t necessarily the most popular instrument Martin was making, the 0-18T has remained a part of their lineup since 1929, and though is now only available through the custom shop, is a much steadier part of production for Martin than almost any other brand that made tenors. Closely associated with the Kingston Trio, one of the early members of the Folk revival, the 0-18T has a surprisingly robust voice for such a small instrument, especially one with only 4 strings.
With most likely a Sitka top, mahogany back and sides, and Brazilian rosewood bridge and fingerboard, this guitar is the exact same as an early 60’s 0-18 six string.
Condition wise, it’s in amazing shape, having had a neck reset and bridge glue at some point, but the body has survived with just a few nicks here and there. Quite good overall.
Comes with the original chipboard case.
