Join us on Sunday, October 9 at 7 PM for an Old Town Pickin’ Parlor Concert featuring our California friends, New West.
If you think you know Western music, think again. This trio from California brings new songs celebrating the people and culture of the American West with three stellar voices, soaring harmonies and instrumentals that are illegal in most states.
Singer and guitarist Michael Fleming, raised at the foot of the Colorado Rockies, writes songs described by one reviewer as “among the most innovative in Western music.” He’s won the Academy of Western Artists’ awards for Best Western Swing Song as well as Best Song, and the Western Music Association’s Song of the Year.
Raul Reynoso's stunning instrumental and vocal skills have made him one of California's most sought-after performers. A two-time Western Regional Flatpicking Champion, Raul has played at the Grand Old Opry and was nominated twice for Best Instrumentalist by the Western Music Association. His CD Royal Street earned him international acclaim among jazz critics and aficionados, and he performed in the film production of “Primal Twang: The Legacy of the Guitar” alongside such luminaries as Doc Watson, Eric Johnson, Albert Lee, Mason Williams and Andrew York.
David Jackson has electrified audiences across the country with his musicianship and technique on bass, piano and accordion. He’s been named Best Instrumentalistby the California Country Music Association, and has played and sung with Jackson Browne, Kenny Rogers, Hoyt Axton, Cher, Dwight Yoakam and many more.
