| David Bailey David's father, a local drummer, introduced David to Denver's local music market and to the basics of professional musicianship. David
began playing the alto sax in elementary school, but traded it for an
electric guitar when he was 11. David's first few jazz guitar lessons
were from local jazz guitarist Ray Biocco, and David began to make a
name for himself as the leader of the jazz/funk outfit, The
Kabalaphonics. David attended Metro State College and the University of
Colorado at Denver, majoring in music, where he studied with brilliant
musicians including Ron Miles, Paul Musso, and Drew Morell. He has over
a dozen years of experience performing and several years teaching
music.

Leon has played with national and local artists Nina Storey and Matthew Moon. He also played at the Denver Broncos Superbowl Celebration, and has been on the bill with Men At Work. In 2002, Leon released an all instrumental CD with his band at the time, "Fuzzchunk." It is a great mix of rock, funk and jazz fusion. He was chosen as a semi-finalist in 1991 & 1992 for Musician Magazine's Best Unsigned Band Contest. teaches all levels and ages from beginners to professionals in need of a coach. She has sung professionally since high school and played the piano her entire life. (As to how many years this comes to, if you can't tell she's not.) She holds a Bachelor of Music Education with vocal/general emphasis from the University of Northern Colorado where she also studied piano and harp. She has complete an internship with Dr. Scott Martin, Academy of the Arts, in his methods of vocal training. Also, she has studied with or attended master classes and seminars with such nationally recognized experts as: Dr. Donna Bogard, Chris Beatty "The Vocal Coach," Tom Jackson, and Chuck Sugar just to name a few. Karen's philosophy as a vocal teacher/coach is that if one is singing correctly, it should be effortless and natural. She also believes that both voice and piano should be enjoyable and just plain fun! |

Julia Hays"What do John Davis, Bedlam Abbey, David Williams & the Hot Club of the Rockies, and Fascinating Rhythm have in common? The answer is Julia Hays who, although classically trained, has quite a repertoire of musical abilities that translate eloquently into blues, jazz, country, renaissance, Celtic, and Irish fiddling....It is Julia's ease in changing styles in a single set, and her unusual ability to play a wide expanse of musical styles comfortably that sets her apart..." was born in Seattle, and raised in Denver and Detroit. After mastering folk style banjo in his early teens, he began learning Scruggs style at Earl Gormaine's Pick and Strum Shop in Royal Oak, Michigan. Soon he was asked to teach at Herb David’s Guitar Studio in Ann Arbor. Then in 1965 Earl Scruggs asked him to help produce the all-time best selling instruction book and record, Earl Scruggs and the 5-String Banjo. His ability to naturally fill in on banjo and guitar/vocals led to job offers to join both Monroe’s Bluegrass Boys and Brown’s Timber liners. Just recently he was invited to perform with Earl Scruggs and Friends at this year’s Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival. Warren is the banjo, mandolin, finger-style guitar player, fiddler, and tenor vocalist in True Blue Grass. |

Ernie Martinez plays just about every instrument that has strings, and more. He started out in the late 1960's playing guitar and drums. Then, when Foggy Mountain Breakdown and The Dueling Banjos came out, he was inspired to learn 5-string banjo. Soon afterwards, he took up the mandolin, resophonic guitar, and pedal steel. He also plays fiddle, piano, and bass. He is a brilliant musician, inspiring teacher, recording artist, songwriter, and producer. |
