Turkey Creek #39 - F style Mandolin - w/hsc - $3150 Price
Luthier Brad Van Loenen builds his great mandolins in Morrison, Colorado. Several of them have come to the Olde Town Pickin' Parlor looking for homes and we are always glad to see and hear another one. His mandolins are both unique and traditional and sound and play great.
This is a Standard F-5 style mandolin with a spruce top and maple back and sides. It has a Ebony fretboard, a Ebony bridge, and a Ebony veneer on the peghead. The nut is bone. It has binding around the top, back, fingerboard and Peghead. It has nice Abalone block inlays on the fingerboard and inlays covering the bridge adjustment holes on the bridge. It comes with nice Schaller Tuners. the scale length is 14" and the nut width is 1 1/8".
This is a great sounding mandolin. It has a different look than the traditional F-5s, but it still keeps the tradition true with the F-style appointments. His mandolins are very toneful and this one is particularly good. It plays very well, and the sound is sure to please.
