D.W. Stevens Archtop Guitar - Price $4000
D.W. Stevens work in lutherie is fantastic. He used to build in Golden Colorado just a few miles from the Olde Town Pickin' Parlor, and we have a couple of his instruments. They float through on occasion, and we love them all. His craftsmanship is second to none, and his instruments are stunning and sound fabulous.
This is a cutaway archtop with an 18" lower bout with a Sitka Spruce top and Maple back and sides. It has an ebony bridge, an ebony finerboard, an ebony pickguard, and an ebony overlay on the headstock. It has a brass tailpiece, cloud inlays on the fingerboard, a great oversized flourish inlay on the peghead, gold plated Schaller tuning machines. It is cross braced and has binding around the peghead, fingerboard, body and the F-holes. It has a floating Bartolini pickup, a bone nut, and a two piece neck. The Scale length is 25 1/2" the nut width is 1 11/16".
This is a used guitar with a peghead repair. It has a couple of very small dings, but otherwise it is in great condition. This is a fantastic guitar. It is huge, the 18" bout makes it uncomfortable for many players, but the sound is huge and wonderful as long as you can wrap yourself around it. The neck is easy to play and comfortable for most any player who can hold it. For more information visit the Olde Town Pickin' Parlor in Arvada, Colorado.
