Collings OM-2HC - Western Sunburst - 1 3/4" nut - PHFB binding - W/hsc --- $5050 List Price
Collings guitars are some of the finest around. They specialize in bluegrass/folk style instruments but have expanded their production line to electric guitars and some of the finest archtop guitars we have seen. They have been in business since 1986, however, Bill Collings has been doing repairs and custom building since 1973.
This is a custom instrument. It is an OM sized guitar with a cutaway. It has a Sitka spruce top and East Indian Rosewood back and sides. It has an Ebony bridge, an ebony fingerboard, a compensated bone saddle, a bone nut, Waverly open back tuners, an Ebony overlay on the headstock, binding on the fingerboard and peghead and a tortoise teardrop pickguard. It has prewar style scalloped bracing, herringbone binding, and dot inlays on the fingerboard. The scale length is 25.5" and the nut width is 1 3/4".
This is a superb guitar with its own voice. It has the comfort of a small-body and a cutaway to reach those high notes. It is in excellent condition with a couple very minor dents in the finish. Collings guitars have some of the best clear tones we have found in acoustic instruments. They fit any scenario and are some of our most sought after instruments. If you have never tried a Collings please stop in and treat yourself, they sound wonderful, look wonderful and are suited to making great music.
