Collings is one of the finest musical instrument builders in the country. They never cease to amaze customers and employees alike here at the Pickin' Parlor. They started with flat-top acoustic guitars and have since expanded to building some amazing arch-tops, great electric guitars, and some of the finest mandolins around. Their craftsmanship is beyond compare and it's no wonder that they have collaborated with the likes of Nugget Mandolins to produce their exceptional products.
This is a standard F-style mandolin, modeled after Lloyd Loar's famous F-5. It has Maple back and sides, and a spruce top. It has a gloss lacquer finish on the top, and a satin finish on the back and sides. It has an ebony bridge and an ebony fingerboard, Gotoh tuners, a Sunburst finish, a radius fingerboard, and Ivoroid binding around the body. The scale length is 13 7/8" and the nut width is 1 1/8".
These are stellar mandolins. Collings F styles are wonderful instruments for bluegrass and whatever else you might be playing. This is one step up from the simplest model Collings F style mandolin, but they are still superior quality instruments for any player.
